“This picture is of Black sailors and it reminds us that Black people have been around in this country long before the Windrush era and the 1970s.”

“I have taken this picture as it’s from the bus stop I used last time I was employed back in 1990. This contrasts with the advertisement celebrating that 165,000 jobs are apparently available.”

“This painting is on the wall in my main living room, so that I can see it more often. I took a picture of this painting as religion is therapeutic to me and helps with my recovery. It’s from the last supper, but only displaying Black rather than White people. Not everyone believes that there could be a Black Jesus, so I hope this photo may change the perspective of people.”

“These pictures show the effects of gentrification. Where there used to be clubs and shops when I was young, these have all been knocked down and it now feels like a waste land. Black and White people used to talk with each other more often on the streets than you find nowadays.”
