“This is a symbol of when it all started. This is my daughter. I had psychotic episodes after she was born. They left it too long to give me treatment. After birth your surroundings have to be good. The people looking after pregnancy and birth have to understand you and respect you and respect your views and take into account your culture. It seems there’s more tendency of a Black woman having psychotic episodes than a European. My second and third pregnancy, my environment was better, and they treated me fairly.”

“This is a park that we always go to. I’ve taken my children there since they were little. It’s a lovely park and it gives peace and time to reflect on the day that I’ve had. It keeps me away from stress. It’s a big park with lots of things going on in it.”

“Spending quality time together – mother and daughter in the park. There were a lot of people about and we’re just enjoying each other’s company. We like to do things together.”
